Urban and Public Furniture Design
In The Upcycle, Willaim McDonough and Miachael Braungart primarily discuss the definition of upcycle, inspiring de- signers to think about eliminating the concept of waste. They mention the process by which nature designs everything based on a function, even after its “death.” They explain how the designer creates an object thinking only about aesthetics and use, but never about the future it will have and what it can contribute to our world; the designer has to optimize the design around the user. We as designers are obliged to make the most out of the resources the world has provided for us. Plastic for example has been shamed and accused for damaging our nature but truth be told, we are the real ENEMY, plastic has given so much, it has treated us with kindness, but this must be reciprocal because if we dont dispose plastice properly then it ́s us damaging our nature. I will be exploring seamless, organic and approachable shapes to create an uninterrupted enviorment that is socially responsible and sustainable.
