HERMES IN ATARASSIA DIVORATO
Urban and Public Design
With my works I try to create a bridge between the ancient sculptors and contemporaneity with its need to reconcile the brutality of the post-industrial world with the beauty of nature. Plastic as a new marble that will outlive us just as classic marble statues have outlived Ancient Greece: I imagine my sculptures as dystopian finds of a post-modern archeology in which recycled materials with their millenary persistence leave an indelible mark in history. Waste that lives a new life more noble and rich in meaning, merging into the eternal canons of classical beauty, leaving at the same time exposed its fragility and its misery.
