Too Good To Go, the App against food waste
Responsible Innovation Projects
Too Good To Go is the app against food waste, connecting businesses and users, insuch a way that the unsold food of the day is not wasted, but rather is given a newvalue. The idea was born in 2015 by a group of Danish students wanting to find asolution against food waste through a simple, flexible and effective model. This is howToo Good To Go app was created: a solution that in a few simple clicks allowsbusinesses to reduce their waste by selling “Magic Box”, boxes containing productsunsold of the day, and users to save products still fresh, which otherwise would bewasted, buying them at a third of the original price. Now Too Good To Go app is available in 14 european countries, in the United Statesand in Canada with 30 million users, more than 50.000 stores and 50 million MagicBox sold, and thanks to that Too Good To Go has made it possible to avoid theemission of over 100 million kg of CO2e. In Italy, in just two years of activity and despite the lockdowns, Too Good To Go hasmanaged to conquer more than three million and a half users and sell almost threemillion “Magic Box”, thanks to the 10.000 stores that joined the initiative. The app is being implemented in order to offer everyone, both shopkeepers andusers, the best experience. We have recently been focusing also on manufacturers, those producers that have products close to the expiry and especially best beforedate, and can’t find another way to make it to the market. Thanks to Too Good To Gowe are being able to save also the products from this step of the supply chain.
