More than 50% of plastic and textile production in the world has become waste, and this situation poses a great threat to natural life in the sea and on land. Plastic and textile wastes, which we should consider as valuable materials, are recycled and encouraged by many institutions and individuals in order to alleviate the burden on the ecosystem. The ‘NEW FROM OLD /armchair&stool’ product offered in this context is a functional and visual product designed to contribute to the recycling of plastic (HDPE) and textile (carpet) waste.  NEW FROM OLD / armchair&stool; It was designed with inspiration from the work of Italian painter ‘ETTORE FORTI’, ‘The Carpet Seller(5)’. The product visually reflects the carpet-motif and classical space emphasis, which is the first to stand out in this work. It is a product that blends the common denominator of the East and the West, carpet – carpet motifs, and classical trend design – architectural lines with the contemporary materials of the 21st century (waste plastic and waste carpets) and takes the name NEW FROM OLD from this synthesis. In other words, the product displays the formal identity of ancient times and the physical structure of new materials in the same body.  NEW FROM OLD product; It is produced from HDPE-based waste plastic and waste carpets.  Manufacture of Armchair &stool; HDPE-based waste plastic bottles, pipes, toys, electrical and electronic parts etc. collected from the environment are separated according to their colors and granulated. Then, it is molded into a cylindrical form by extrusion method after being heat treated and brought to the designed form with a numerical control machine capable of 5-axis cutting. Or the granules undergoing heat treatment are brought into the designed shape by pushing them into the mold prepared in the desired form by extrusion method. As a final operation, ‘female buckle’ is added to the seating and backrest sections of the armchair & stool for the carpet pieces.  Manufacture of seat and backrest sections at Armchair&stool; Waste carpets that have lost their function and are not used in the environment are collected, and the armchair&stool carpet produced from waste plastic is selected in the appropriate color and cut according to mold dimensions. The overlock process is applied in order not to dismantle the edges of the cut carpet pieces. Then, male buckles are added (sewed) under these carpet pieces, corresponding to the snap buttons added to armchair&stool. Thanks to these snap buttons, the carpet pieces that make up the seating and backrest areas are fixed and can be easily changed whenever we want.  In NEW FROM OLD / Armchair; * 89.40% HDPE plastic, * 10.58% waste carpet, * 0.02% metal (snap buttons) were used. In Stool; * 96.27% HDPE plastic, * 3.72% waste carpet, * 0.01% metal (snap buttons) were used. In 2 products of NEW FROM OLD, armchair and stool, 100% of the total product is used by recycling waste material.  The NEW FROM OLD / armchair&stool product, which adapts to all kinds of interior and exterior spaces with its form and combination of materials and appeals to its  users with its functional features, is produced from 100% recycled materials. In this way, it also makes great contributions to reducing the plastic and textile waste problem, which is the biggest problem of our world.
